About Connect Alt
Our mission is to create a central hub for blind and visually impaired professionals to access events, programs, and resources all in one place.
Connect Alt was started by Lucie Courtois, Ella Deshautreaux, and Carol Trpaani.
Lucie, who has been blind since birth, is also a published author. In her book, she ended by imagining a website where blind people could connect with one another — an idea that ultimately inspired the creation of Connect Alt.
As a blind-founded platform, we aim not only to make professional resources more accessible, but also to open doors for meaningful employment. One of our long-term goals is to provide jobs and career opportunities for blind and visually impaired individuals, ensuring our community is supported both online and in the workforce.
